LASER HAIR REMOVAL
It is an excellent method to get rid of unwanted hair. There are different methods of hair removal:
Temporary
Razing, waxing, chemical creams last from 7 days to a month.
Permanent
Laser, Electrolysis.
Method- Energy is absorbed by the follicle melanin in the hair follicle and it gets destroyed. Works on chromophore absorption principle. Chromophore is the structure which absorbs the energy. Some examples of chromophores are haemoglobin, melanin and water. In case of hair removal lasers, melanin is the chromophore because it is abundant in the hair follicles.
Time required – Six to eight sessions are required. Time gap between sessions varies depending upon the area to be treated. For example- thick hair (under arms, bikni line and face) grows back in a month. Needs lasing 4 to 6 weeks. Body hair takes longer to grow and 6 to 8 weeks is the time gap.
