This is an autoimmune condition where patches of hair are lost on the scalp. Multiple bald patches are seen all over the scalp. If whole scalp care is lost it is alopecia totalis. If eyebrow and body hair is also lost it is called alopecia universalis.
Patches of hair loss are completely reversible. Patchy hair loss generally occurs after a stressful condition.
